Urban Lumber Co. + Orox

We're excited to be working together with Urban Lumber Co. They made this beautiful table that's now in our store. It's crafted out of a single rough edged slab of wood and finished with elegant metal legs. Like Orox, Urban Lumber Co. works in what they refer to as a "rustic modern" style. We're loving it!

Urban Lumber Co. is based in Eugene and has a store there and in Healdsburg, California. They work only with salvaged, reclaimed, and sustainable harvested wood. Much of it (like the black walnut logs you see below) is from city trees that need to be cut. Like Orox, they marry rugged materials with sleek modern design to create products that will last a lifetime.

We love the grain and character of our new Urban Lumber Co. table (see below). The warm wood with many different tones makes our products look their best. Like leather, wood is a natural material full of imperfections that make it endlessly fascinating. And both materials age beautifully. (Shown: 9" Zippered Pouch)

 
Urban Lumber Co. was founded by Seth San Filippo in 2006. His devotion to "stewardship of urban forests has earned him renown locally and nationally, and his craftsmanship and unique take on the 'modern rustic' style  has brought him patronage up and down the West Coast as well as internationally. ... At the core of it all is the fundamental love of beautiful woods, and the appreciation of the trees they come from."
